At Computex 2023, ASUS debuted an innovative hidden-connector PC assembly component called BTF, marking a new era in PC design that prioritizes aesthetics and convenience first. These innovations go beyond traditional PC assembly approaches, reducing the number of internal cables on the front of the board.

The success of the BTF concept led to the creation of the ROG Advanced BTF ecosystem, which includes the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero BTF motherboard, the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 BTF Edition video card and the ROG Hyperion GR701 BTF Edition case.

Motherboard from the future: ROG Maximus Z790 Hero BTF

The flagship of the Advanced BTF ecosystem is the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero BTF motherboard, which features a unique design with hidden connectors. All pin connectors are located on the rear side of the board, providing an unprecedented level of ease of cabling for DIY enthusiasts. The motherboard also features other innovative functions, including a Q-LED diagnostic LED display in the upper right corner that provides real-time feedback on power and memory installation issues before the system boots.

The motherboard design also features the noteworthy PCIe Q-Release Slim slot – a convenient solution for unlocking video cards. Users can simply tilt and pull the video card to release it from the slot, simplifying system upgrades and maintenance. The motherboard also features a high-performance video card slot, specially designed for compatibility with video cards that use the high-performance PCIe slot, such as the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 BTF Edition.

The ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 BTF Edition video card retains all the powerful features of the standard ROG Strix RTX 4090 model, but at the same time it is equipped with an increased power PCIe connector, compatible with the new increased power slot on the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero BTF motherboard. This innovative design eliminates the need for additional 8-pin or 16-pin power connectors, simplifying cabling and reducing the number of visible wires. The Advanced BTF concept provides additional support for the video card, which prevents it from sagging and provides both aesthetic appeal and structural reliability.

The Advanced BTF ecosystem is complemented by the ROG Hyperion GR701 BTF Edition case, which facilitates cable routing and works well with hidden connector solutions. In this way, the ROG BTF ecosystem improves the aesthetic appearance of the system, integrating innovative engineering developments for a more convenient, faster and higher-quality PC assembly.
